Forty Years of Service, Relationships and Industry Experience

1986–2026 | Celebrating 40 Years

Affair Party Rentals Limited was officially incorporated on August 20, 1986.

What began as a family business grew into one of Ontario’s established special-event rental operations, supporting thousands of weddings, corporate functions, festivals, sporting events, community celebrations and private occasions.

Today, as we celebrate our 40th anniversary, Affair is entering a new chapter—one built on the same experience, relationships and commitment to service that have defined our company since the beginning.

Where Our Story Began

The Affair story began with Rick Lukasik’s mother, who made the transition from credit manager to business owner and helped establish the foundation for what the company would eventually become.

From its early days operating at 199 Advance Boulevard, Affair continued to grow—expanding its inventory, developing its team and building long-standing relationships throughout the Canadian rental and special-events industry.

In 1996, the company purchased its own 20,000-square-foot facility. As the business continued to expand, Affair moved again in 2010, purchasing the larger 40,000-square-foot facility from which it operates today.

Each stage of that growth was made possible by dedicated employees, loyal customers, dependable suppliers and industry partners who shared in the journey.

The People Have Always Been the Story

The buildings, tents, tables, chairs and rental equipment were never really the story.

The people were.

Over four decades, Affair has had the privilege of working alongside exceptional employees, caterers, event planners, venues, suppliers, fellow rental companies and event-industry professionals.

Many customers became long-term customers. Many suppliers became trusted partners. Many employees became part of the extended Affair family. And many professional relationships grew into lasting friendships.

Those relationships are the most meaningful part of Affair’s history—and they remain at the heart of the business today.

Celebrating the Events That Bring People Together

For 40 years, Affair helped bring events to life throughout Ontario and beyond.

Our team supported events of every size, including:

• Weddings and private celebrations
• Corporate functions
• Festivals and community events
• Sporting events
• Fundraisers and charitable functions
• Large-scale public events
• Intimate family occasions

Every event represented an important moment for someone. We are proud that our people, products and services played a part in so many of those moments.

A New Chapter for Affair

After considerable thought, Rick determined that Affair’s 40th anniversary was the right milestone to bring the company’s Tent & Party Rental chapter to a close.

This was not a decision made overnight. It was a thoughtful choice to conclude one important chapter responsibly while creating the opportunity for the next chapter to continue.

Affair Is Not Closing

While the Tent & Party Rental Division is closing, the company continues through Affair Linen & Laundry.

Our Linen & Laundry Division remains open and continues serving both existing and new customers.

Our professional tent-washing and maintenance services will also continue, supporting tent rental companies with the care of their commercial tent inventory.

Affair’s continuing services include:

• Linen rental for caterers, event planners and venues
• Commercial linen laundry
• Professional tent washing
• Tent maintenance services for rental companies

The business is becoming more specialized, but our commitment to professional service, quality workmanship and strong industry relationships remains unchanged.

This year marks a milestone that means a great deal to me and my family.

Forty years after Affair Party Rentals Limited was incorporated, it is difficult to put into words everything that has happened—or how many people throughout the Canadian rental and event industry have been part of our story.

After four decades, I have come to realize that the buildings, tents, tables, chairs and rental equipment were never really the story.

The people were.

I have had the privilege of working alongside incredible employees, customers, suppliers, fellow rental companies and industry colleagues. Many business relationships became long-term friendships, and those relationships are what I will remember most.

To everyone who has been part of our journey, thank you.

Thank you for your business, your trust, your support and, most importantly, your friendship. To our employees past and present, our customers, suppliers, fellow rental companies and industry colleagues—each of you has played a part in the Affair story.

I am incredibly proud of what we built together.

This is a farewell to an important chapter of Affair’s history, but it is not goodbye to Affair.

As the Tent & Party Rental chapter comes to a close, a new chapter continues through Affair Linen & Laundry and our professional tent-washing and maintenance services.
