Selected through a competitive bidding process from a range of potential suppliers, we at Affair Tent & Event Rentals are very proud to been selected as the current official supplier of tents and temporary structures at the Canadian National Exhibition. The CNE or, more commonly "The Ex" is 'Canada's largest community event and one of the top 10 agricultural fairs in North America. Founded in 1879 as the Toronto Industrial Exhibition, the CNE has enjoyed a distinguished history as a showcase of the nation...Taking place over the 18 days leading up to and including Labour Day, it is affectionately embraced as an end-of-summer ritual by more than 1.3 million visitors annually' (source www.theex.com).
The challenge:
Providing eighty-three (83) tents, including a massive "Country & Western" Themed 25m(82') x 45m(150') Clear Span Structure, with clear side walls, glass entry/exit doors, professional-grade stage with railing, stairs, etc. under tight timelines, with strict on-site working conditions.
Affair Tent & Event Rentals was also called upon to prepare and submit all temporary tent related building permit applications, including arranging for the necessary Engineering site-reviews to ensure that the temporary spaces were in line with Building Code requirements and fit for occupancy by the public.
The result:
Feedback from attendees and organizers was resoundingly positive and we are looking forward to 2015 already!
